The heart behind the boutique
Hi, I'm Elsa Lacuna, the owner of Love, Fashion & More.
My journey has taken me across continents and industries before landing me in historic downtown Sanford. After earning a degree in Business Administration in my native Philippines, I built a career as an entrepreneur, running businesses ranging from a wholesale distributorship of gas, Coke, Pepsi, and rice to a mini mart, an ice cream shop and restaurant, a music and sporting goods store, and a salon. Along the way, I served as President of my local Rotary Club, helping bring computer literacy education to 1,243 students, a project still close to my heart.
I moved to the U.S. in 2006 and became a citizen in 2010. After settling in Sanford, I spent 18 years at Dillard's in the Seminole Town Center, working my way up to top producer and overseeing the high-end men's department, all while raising my daughter, Kristina, as a single mother. Eventually, I was ready for something of my own. I got to the point where I didn't want to work for others.
About a year ago, I opened the doors to Love, Fashion & More in Historic Downtown Sanford: the shop I always wished I could walk into. A place where designer handbags sit happily beside chic fashion and everyday favorites, where every piece is chosen by hand, and where you're welcomed like a friend, never rushed, never pressured, always styled with care.
Outside the shop, I'm a grandmother of three who plays tennis, shoots hoops with my grandson, kayaks the Wekiva River, and gardens with the green thumb I inherited from my father. I've traveled to 52 countries (Switzerland, my favorite, five times), and I'm not done exploring yet. I stay active in the community as a member of the Rotary Club Sanford Breakfast and the Sanford Chamber of Commerce.
